Economic and community development, housing development, procurement, contracting and public policy are where Jennifer finds her passion. In fact, prior to joining SDDC in April 2018 Jennifer spent 22 years working in economic development in a variety of roles from consulting to grant writing to procurement in West River, South Dakota. Her experience in the development space brings clients the connections and resources they need to build a successful business, from assisting with loan applications to collaborating with bankers and state and federal agencies. She led SDDC to transition from Governor’s Office of Economic Development to a standalone Community Development Corporation and has been growing the benefits she can provide to small businesses since. Jennifer received her degree in Political Science from the University of South Dakota and has three children, Jack, Tess and Meg.
